Janice James, a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2025, in Lebanon, Oregon, at the age of 76. Born on August 15, 1949, in Tacoma, Washington, Janice was the beloved daughter of Roberta and Don. She spent her early years in Tacoma, where she developed a love for learning. In 1960, her family relocated to Tucson, Arizona.

Janice attended the University of Arizona, where she pursued her education. Her professional life began in government technology, and she later transitioned into the semiconductor manufacturing industry, where she built a respected career before retiring.

On January 22, 1972, Janice married the love of her life, Joel James, in Tucson. Their marriage was a partnership rooted in love, laughter, and shared devotion to family. Together, they raised three children—Christine, Kat, and Scott.

Janice’s life was rich with simple joys and heartfelt passions. She found comfort and creativity in crocheting and knitting, and she delighted in games of bingo, word searches, and puzzles. A lifelong reader and movie enthusiast, Janice cherished quiet moments and lively conversations alike. Above all, she treasured time spent with her family, never missing an opportunity to brag about her children and grandchildren, whose accomplishments brought her endless pride.

In 2023, Janice moved to Lebanon, Oregon, to start a new chapter in her and her family’s lives.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Joel, and her parents, Roberta and Don. She is survived by her children, Christine, Kat, and Scott; her son-in-law, Michael; her daughter-in-law, Miranda; and her grandchildren, Natalie, Ethan, Hallie, Abbie, and Aiden. She also leaves behind her brothers, Bill and Don; her sister-in-law, Eileen; her nieces, Kari and Debbie; and her nephew, Rick. As well as her beloved pets Mousse, Emma a.k.a Little Girl, Wrangler and Misfit.

Janice made a huge impact on her loved ones and others she met throughout her life. Everyone became her family and she is truly missed.
