Janice Jeffs

We remember with fondness the life of Janice P. Jeffs, born on October 20, 1931, at Joseph, Utah, who passed away on June 6, 2025. Janice was a pillar of strength, a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Janice's kindness, generosity, and love will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Janice was born in the family house and raised on a farm in Joseph, Utah along with her 10 siblings. She came to Provo to attend Brigham Young University. While in Provo, she met M. Dayle Jeffs, and they were married on December 18, 1950 in the Manti Temple. With the exception of the time Dayle was in the military, Janice lived the rest of her life in Provo, Utah.
Janice and Dayle had 4 sons: David, James, Robert and William. For many years, Janice worked part-time at Jeffs & Jeffs, the law firm Dayle had established with his brother, Dean. However, the focus of her time and attention was raising her four sons, whether they were camping, going to Lake Powell, or encouraging the family to fish, hunt or ski. Also, she had numerous callings in the Church and in the cub scouting program. One thing she said she was very proud of was the fact that all 4 of her sons received their Eagle Scout award.
Janice found her greatest joy in spending time with her sons, their wives, her grandchildren, their spouses and her great-grandchildren. Janice is survived by her sons David (Denise), James (Cynthia), Robert (Tracy) and William (Joanne) as well as 16 grandchildren and 43 great-grandchildren, and by her sister, Melba P. Larsen. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dayle, her parents, James and Lucina Parker, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Janice lived a life full of love, faith, and service. Her memory will continue to inspire all who knew her.
Please join us in a celebration of Janice's life. There will be viewing at Nelson Mortuary, 4780 North University Ave. Provo, on Sunday, June 15, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral will be at the Edgemont Ninth Ward chapel, 4300 North Canyon Road, Provo on Monday, June 16, 2025. The chapel viewing will be from 9:30 to 10:45 am and the funeral will be at 11:00 am. The funeral will also be streamed by Nelson Mortuary. Burial will be at the Orem Cemetery.
