Janice Mary Ladner, a beloved daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, departed from this world on August 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with love and warmth in the heart of Gulfport, Mississippi, where she was born on July 4, 1943. A lifelong resident of Gulfport, Janice graduated from St. John High School in 1961, and she was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
From her earliest days, Janice was enchanted by the art of baking, sharing her passion with her beloved mother. Together, they turned their home into a haven of delectable scents, crafting made-from-scratch cakes that delighted family and friends alike. Her culinary creations were not merely desserts; they were expressions of love, each bite infused with the joy of togetherness and shared moments.
Beyond the kitchen and her sacred duties, Janice possessed a multitude of interests, particularly enjoying the delicate crafts of crocheting and embroidering. Her artistic talents shone through in her intricate embroidery for Annie's Woodshed, showcasing her creativity and attention to detail. Each stitch ignited joy and color into the lives of those who received her handcrafted gifts, providing a tangible reminder of her boundless generosity and spirit.
Janice leaves a vibrant tapestry of family and friends who cherished her deeply. Survived by her three devoted siblings—Kenneth V. Ladner, Roger W. Ladner (Carolyn), and Gaynelle Saucier (Wayne)—as well as a plethora of nieces and nephews, including Deborah Holt (Jim), Robyn Saucier, Victor Ladner (Jennifer), Cherie Ramsey (Larry), Michelle Ladner (Dereck), and Michael Saucier (Katherine), she was a guiding light and a source of strength for them all. The love she fostered continues to ripple through the lives of her 11 great nieces and nephews and 2 great-great nieces and nephews, ensuring her spirit endures in the hearts of her family.
