Janice Elizabeth Larkin, born on February 28, 1954, in Saint Louis, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025. Janice's warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit resonated in everything she did, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Janice is survived by her beloved children, daughter Sara (Brad Wade) Barkey and son Chris (Jennifer) Jacobsmeyer. She cherished her role as a grandmother to her grandson Reid Wade and her granddaughters Autumn Jacobsmeyer, Maddie Jacobsmeyer, and Lauren Jacobsmeyer. In addition to her immediate family, Janice leaves behind her two sisters, Judy (Ned) Heverin and Mary Lou (Alan Sunkel) Nolan, as well as her brother Francis Nolan, along with a host of other family members and friends who respected and loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Hugh Larkin; her father, Francis J. Nolan; her mother, Lucille V. Nolan; and her brother, John Nolan. Each loss shaped Janice into the compassionate and resilient person remembered by many today.
A viewing will be held on May 4, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, West County, located at 2211 Clarkson Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63017. The funeral service will take place the following day, May 5, 2025, starting at 9:30 AM, also at Newcomer Funeral Home, with the graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, MO 63125.
Janice's legacy of love, kindness, and generosity will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.
