Janice Loftus Obituary
Janice worked at Churchill Downs for nearly 70 years. Churchill was more to her than a job she loved the place, the excitement, the customers and the wonderful people she worked with along the way. Janice was a devoted Catholic and a member of St. Louis Bertrand Parish. She loved horse racing, the casino, beach vacations, dining out, and spending time with her family and friends.
Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years Donald Martin Loftus, her parents Fred and Gertrude Eicher, and brothers Jim, Robert and Eugene Eicher.
She is survived by her brother Fred Eicher, her sons Brian, Greg (Jackie) and Scott Loftus, three grandchildren, Maureen Jones (Eric), Stephen and Monica Loftus, one great grandchild, Vivian Jones and many dear nieces and nephews.
After 85 years of bringing love and joy to all those who had the pleasure of meeting her Jan finally made last call.
Visitation will be held from 2-8 PM on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Bosse Funeral Home, 1355 Ellison at Barret Avenues. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 AM on Saturday, June 29 at St. Louis Bertrand Catholic Church with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.

I´ll always remember Janice´s ready smile and her gorgeous red hair. Janice was a kind and loving woman. She and other neighbor women helped my family immensely after our mother died. I always enjoyed seeing her at the track. I loved her. Janice will never be forgotten.

After my mom passed away when I was four years old, Janice became a second mother to me. She kept a tidy house that was always welcoming. I have fond memories of fun times with Brian, Greg and Scott. May peace surround her family during this challenging time.
