Doris Jean Earls

Doris Jean Earls ("Jeannie,") passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, in Louisville, Kentucky, at the age of 72.

Jeannie was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and loved one whose presence will be deeply missed. Family was the center of her life, and she took great pride in the people she loved and cared for.

Jeannie loved watching NFL football and was a loyal fan of the Washington Redskins, faithfully cheering for her team and enjoying the excitement of every game day.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis R Lawson; her mother, Doris M Lawson; her son Louis R Earls; and her sisters Venita Borders, Ruth Shake, and Betty Melson.

She is survived by her son, Joshua Earls (Tina); her beloved grandchildren, Tabitha Earls, and Kaiden Earls; her sister Sandra Young (Herbert); and her brother, Rodger Lawson (Elaine).

Jeannie will be interred at 2 PM on Thursday, February 12 in St. Michael Cemetery, 1153 Charles Street in Louisville.

Jeannie will be remembered for her love of family, her strong spirit, and the warmth she shared with those around her. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
