Ron was a great guy! We used to eat together for several years on auction days. Ron always knew where to find the bargain lunches! He loved his KY Derby glasses, pocket knives, and anything he could sell at the flea markets. He did not need the money but just enjoyed transacting deals with the public. He even volunteered at the auctions on Spring Street in Louisville for many years. I knew him as a very kind and generous man. I will miss him. May he rest in the arms of Jesus, forever.

Ron & I were friends. We met at Hay's Auction as we were both auction addicts. I found him to be personable & honest. I would trust him with anything. Hays was a social event for a lot of people. Ron & I would talk but when something he wanted came up for auction, he was all business. He will be missed. John Reid

I know Ron will be missed by those who are close to him. I do still miss our many conversations at work at the COE years ago. And of course the personal touch upon his delivery of Avon was always a special treat! He kept us all in line as spec writing technology changed too. Dad (Ralph) and Ron were close COE adversaries and friends, often bantering back and forth about the Wildcats and specs. I marveled at Ron´s enthusiasm for life. God bless the family as memories are shared.

Sorry for your loss..
I only met him a few times. Most recently at Shakespeare in the Park. He seemed like a very nice man.

Remembering Ron
Ron was truly one of a kind-kind-hearted, often stubborn in the most endearing way, and famously unimpressed by cheese and most dairy delicacies. He had a warmth about him that made people feel comfortable right away, and a presence that stuck with you.
In his later years, he especially enjoyed dinners out with his daughter Debbie and friends, savoring good food, good company, and shared laughs. Even as he faced health challenges, Ron never lost his determination or his drive to keep moving forward.
He was a friend to many, deeply loved, and will never be forgotten. His spirit lives on in the memories we hold and the stories we´ll continue to tell.

Ron was a great guy. He was also a generous person. I worked with him at the Corps of Engineers. He loved violets and enjoyed his Avon products and Derby glasses, and even wrote a book about all the derby glasses. Although I havent seen him in years my coldences goes out to his daughter and family. Unfortunately I will be unable to make the funeral. May he rest in peace.
