Janice C. Martin

Janice C. Martin, 78, of Meadville, passed away Thursday morning October 24, 2024 in Meadville Medical Center. She was born in Fredonia on January 12, 1946, a daughter of Millicent King.
She was a 1963 graduate of Fredonia High School and on April 17, 1965, Janice married James Martin, he survives She was employed as a flight instructor at Greenville Airport for over 30 years where she trained hundreds of local pilots, she also worked at Meadville Forging Co for many years.
She was a member of United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills.
Janice enjoyed flying and was devoted to her family. She was previously a member of Meadville Christian and Missionary Alliance where she was a deaconess and played the piano.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, she is survived by two daughters, Dr. Kimberley Coddington and her husband Rev. David of Chesapeake, VA, Karen Peterman and her husband Brian of Meadville; a sister, Wanda Slater of Meadville; four grandchildren, James Coddington and his wife Gwen, Robin Coddington, Charissa Coddington, and Ray "RJ" Walters; and many nieces, nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Darl King, Gary King, and Gaylord King.
A Funeral Service will be on Monday 10-28-24 at 3:00 PM in Rose and Waid Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville, with Rev. David Coddington, officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday 10-28-24 from 1:00 until the time of service. Burial will be private in Greendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to United Evangelical Free Church of Guys Mills 11534 PA-198 Guys Mills, PA 16327.
