Janice Ian Jarmillo Meyer of Woods Cross, Utah passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday January 8, 2026.
Born November 9, 1941, to her loving parents Ione Mae Ferguson Jarmillo and Albert Jarmillo. Graduated in 1960 from Davis High School she went on to work at her first job at Wong's Chinese Restaurant where she fostered her love for Chinese food. Years later, for over thirty-five + years, Janice worked for the Utah Department of Transportation where she gained recognition for her superior secretarial skills and was a huge asset to the department. She married James Arthur Kilpack during the year 1961 and had her first daughter Janae Christine born on March 13, 1962.
Later she divorced and married James L Meyer in Elko Nevada. On January 23, 1970, she welcomed her second daughter Angela Mae Meyer Metzger. Janice was married until Jim's death in 2023.
Janice was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, cousin, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She fiercely loved her family and was especially proud of her two daughters, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Her special interests included beach day adventures, attending family reunions, eating Swiss Colony Butter Toffee, dancing with her cousin Barbara, listening to Elvis Presley songs (Hound Dog, Love Me Tender) among other artists, reading romance novels, bookkeeping, watching TV (Hawaii 5-0, Adam 12, MASH, soap operas, etc.) camping, boating on Lake Tahoe and Bear Lake, and taking care of her sweet dog Tobie.
Her ultimate pride and joy were spending quality time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family members.
She survived by her loving granddaughters Casey Cowley, Shannon M Kelly, and Ciera Metzger. Nine great grandchildren: Skylynn, Mataya, K'Dnce, Gage, Gavin, Raven, Peyton, Nick and Trevor.
Preceded in death by her brother Robert Prescley Jarmillo, her parents Ione Mae Ferguson Jarmillo and Albert Jarmillo, her husband Jim Meyer, her daughters Janae Christine Kilpack Meyer, and Angela Mae Metzger.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 17, 2026, at the Church of Latter-Day Saints 1335 West 1500 South Woods Cross, Utah 84087.
