Janice Rae Morello passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Arbour Square of Harleysville, at the age of 82.
She was born in Choteau, Montana on August 9, 1942 to the late Alfred and Gladys (née Mullaney) Baumgartner. Following graduation from Choteau High School, Janice worked for Montana Power. She met her loving husband in 1963, Thomas Joseph Morello, while he was stationed there with the US Air Force. They were married in Montana on March 21st, 1964 and after giving birth to their first child she become a homemaker.
Janice and Thomas relocated to the King of Prussia area where they went on to have two more daughters and Janice spent her time raising their young children. Once all three daughters were old enough, she went on to work as a florist at Genuardi’s Flowers in Norristown, a job she truly loved.
Janice loved her home in the Poconos Mountains. She enjoyed painting ceramics, baking her children’s and grandchildren’s favorite birthday cakes , dancing with her husband, snow skiing, and playing cards and Rummikub. She also enjoyed a nice glass of Sutter Home Chardonnay.
Janice is survived by her three daughters, Cherise Morello (Ricardo) Pons, Shawn (John) Cannon, and Stacie (Brad) Rich; seven grandchildren, Elaina, Rick, Cameryn, Mia, Mackenzie, Holly, and Brent; as well as two siblings, Donald (Barbara) Baumgartner and Roberta (Michael) Wellington and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Joseph Morello, in 2020, an infant son, Thomas Russell Morello and three sisters, June Brumberger, Joanne Fowler and Judy Brinkman.
A memorial service honoring Janice’s life will be held on Thursday February 27, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home located at 145 Tennis Ave, Ambler, PA 19002. Family and friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Janice’s name may be made to Last Chance Ranch, 9 Beck Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 and/or Plant a Tree.
