Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home, Inc.Stephen George Beckman (Steve), of Lansdale, PA, passed away on February 5, 2026, in Quakertown. He was 73 years old.
Steve was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, to George and Mary Beckman on July 16, 1952. He was previously married to Susan Aiken-Beckman. He was “Dad” to his children, Lisa Bistline and her husband Jason; Beth Beckman and her husband Ryan Casey; and Seren Beckman. He was “Pop-Pop” to Lauren and Kaylie Bistline and Seamus and Roberta Casey. Steve was incredibly proud of each of his children and grandchildren.
Steve grew up in Fort Wayne and graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. He began his career in social work at St. Mary’s Hospital in Fort Wayne. In 1983, he moved to Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and later worked as an insurance adjuster for various companies over the years. At one point, he also ran a small construction business and took on projects whenever he could. In later years, he relocated to the Quakertown area, where he spent the remainder of his life.
Faith and sobriety were pillars in Steve’s life. He pursued ministry and later served in clergy roles. He was actively involved in the recovery community for many years and frequently sponsored others. Steve enjoyed working with his hands, whether fixing cars or building something. He was an avid reader and liked watching golf, basketball (only Indiana teams), the History Channel, and documentaries about World War II. When his children were growing up, the family would go camping and to amusement parks. Even though he disliked heights, he went on rollercoasters with them. Steve enjoyed telling “dad” jokes and often was the one who laughed the hardest. Steve will be missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 23, 2026, from 10–11 a.m., followed by a memorial service from 11 a.m.–12 p.m. at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home (145 Tennis Avenue, Ambler, PA).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve’s honor to the Council of Southeast Pennsylvania or to the “In Memory of Steve- Education Fund”. Contributions to the education fund will be divided equally among Steve’s four grandchildren and directed to their college savings plans. Details and links are available below.
