Janice S. Murphin Wright, 75, of Crothersville, passed away peacefully at 7:50 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2024, at the Hoosier Christian Village, Brownstown.
Janice was born on September 18, 1949, in Seymour, IN, to the late Woodrow & Luella (Fields) Henderson. She attended Medora High School. Janice was a member of Tampico Christian Church. She was a quality supervisor at Spartans, Dura, & Caltherm. She also worked in Home Health and Foods Plus. Janice was a very hard worker and enjoyed being around people. She loved to quilt and was a great cook. Everyone loved her noodles and her angel food cake.
On August 19, 1966, Janice married Robert D. Murphin and he preceded in her in death on October 17, 2008. On September 18, 2011, she married Randall Wright, and he preceded her in death on June 14, 2024.
Survivors include her children: Robin (Allen) Sherfick of Bloomington & Patrick (Leigh Ann) Murphin of Crothersville; stepson, Chris Green of Indianapolis and a stepdaughter, Amanda (Andy) Richey of Enterprise, Alabama; grandchildren: Victoria Helms, Zachary Sherfick, Lindsey Hobson, & Lauren Spencer; 6 great grandchildren; brothers: Ronald (Becky) Henderson, John Henderson, & Homer Fields; and a sister, Mary (Rick) Auffenburg.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, both of her husbands, and sisters: Linda Davidson, Bonnie Wetzel, & Patty Henderson.
Funeral services for Janice will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Randy King officiating. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place at Leesville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Tampico Christian Church.
