William Thomas Franklin Dixon, 80, of Azle, TX, passed away at 2:45 p.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Harris Hospital in Fort Worth, TX. He had been ill for 4 years.
Tom was born June 17, 1944, to the late William J. Dixon & Iva Mae Jordan Dixon. He was a 1962 graduate of Medora High School. On December 14, 1963, Tom married Janet Sue "Jenny" Singer Dixon, and she survives in Azle, TX.
Tom retired from Cummins Engine Company after 37 ½ years of employment and then he and Jenny moved to Bradenton, FL. He was a member of Central Christian Church, Jackson Masonic Lodge #146, F&AM and Order of the Eastern Star #134, all of Seymour.
Tom loved fishing, hunting, and bowled on several leagues. When his sons were young, he helped with the Boy Scouts of America at the Baptist Church and Central Christian Church, both in Seymour. He enjoyed Indiana University basketball and attended games when he was in Bloomington.
Survivors include his wife, Jenny, sons: Dwayne Thomas "Dewey" (Melissa) Dixon & David Allen (Robyn) Dixon; grandchildren: Jill (Ryan) Tuggle, Nicole (Matt) Aschenbrenner, Tyler (Leia) Morin, Christian Banks Dixon, Parker William Dixon, Bartley Renee Dixon, Sawyer David Dixon, & Joshua (Caroline) Brinkley; great grandchildren: Reagan & Judd Tuggle, Jameson, Lynnleigh, Brooks, & Shepard Aschenbrenner, Colt Morin, & Charli Brinkley; brother, Ralph E. Dixon of Lombard, IL.
Preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Mary A. Dixon Singer & Lillian E. Dixon Martin; brother, Richard E. Dixon; sisters-in-law, Jo Dixon & Patricia Dixon; brothers-in-law: Marshall Singer, Jr., Royal Trowbridge, & Dale Martin.
Funeral services for Tom Dixon will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Johnson Funeral Home, Vallonia with Rev. Sam Davenport officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. Memorial contributions may be given to Central Christian Church, Seymour or First Christian Church, Bradenton, FL.
