Janice Parish Obituary
Janice was born on Friday, November 26, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Waldo Standish Oar and the late Zelma Ellis Oar.
She was a devoted member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Janice found joy in the simple pleasures of life, fishing, gardening, and playing the piano. Janice had a passion for singing; she attended many competitions as well as singing for weddings, and funerals. Janice dedicated twenty-plus years of her life to teaching in Ohio, leaving a lasting impact on many students and families. She will be missed by many.
Janice is survived by 3 daughters: Laurie (Tony) Putman, Beth (Eric) Lifsey, and Aimee (Jason) Minto, 5 grandchildren: Chandler (Anthony) Brais, Riley Putman, Paxton Lifsey, Walker Lifsey, Logan Minto, and 1 great-grandchild, Eloise Brais
In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Alvin Carl Parish.
A Funeral service will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday at Crest Lawn Funeral Home, located at 800 West Jackson Street, Cookeville, Tennessee 38501. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, 2026.
