Mrs. Janice Ann Bentley Peek, age 77, life-long resident of Louvale, GA., passed away Sunday, September 7, 2025 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus. Janice was born December 25, 1947 in Columbus, GA. She was the daughter of the late R.M. "Reese" Bentley and Mary Shierling Bentley. She was a graduate of Stewart County High School and later attended college for a period of time. Janice started her work career for the Army Rangers as a secretary at Ft. Benning, later being a stay-at-home home mom when her daughter Sallie was born. Janice retired from B and S Air Inc. after 20 years of service. Janice was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church in Louvale, GA where she served as the church treasurer. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in the death by her husband Joe B. 'Bob" Peek. Survivors include her only child Sallie Peek Long and son-in-law, Chad Long of Louvale, GA and her only grandson, Bentley Long of San Antonio TX. Her brother and sister-in-law, Grady and Barbara Ann Bentley of Thomaston, GA. Other extended family also survive. A worship service celebrating the life of Mrs. Janice Ann Bentley Peek will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at 4:00 PM in the sanctuary of New Hope Baptist Church, on historic Louvale Church Row. Dr. Mike Stevens and Rev. Robert Orr will officiate. The family will receive friends following the service at a reception at the Louvale School House, also located on historic Church Row. A private internment will be held at a later time in the Bentley family plot in the Church Row Cemetery. The family request that all food Sunday be taken to the Louvale School House for after the service. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request that donations be made to the New Hope Baptist Church in Louvale, GA. or to the Church Row Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Peek Haisten McCullugh Funeral Home, 1155 Everee Inn Road, Griffin, Ga. 30224 is in charge of arrangements.
