Franklin Delano Woodall Sr.

Franklin Delano Woodall, Sr., 92, of Atlanta, husband of Patsy Campbell Woodall, died Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at his home. Born in Griffin, July 8, 1933, he was a son of the late Lemon Clayton Woodall and Ida Walraven Woodall. Mr. Woodall attended Noth Georgia College then Georgia State College where he was in the Corps of Cadets. He was formerly employed with Georgia International Insurance Company and Assurant Insurance Company. He later co-owned and operated D and S Plants an Interior Landscaping Company. Mr. Woodall was an avid runner, running twenty marathons. He was a member of the Atlanta Track Club, running into his 80's. He ran his last 10K in 2015 in Charleston, SC alongside his youngest granddaughter Victoria. He was a huge Georga Bulldog's football fan. In addition to his parents, Mr. Woodall was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Woodall and Clayton Woodall. Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, JoEllen Gunn and husband Joseph of Gainesville, Tracy Balkcom and husband Bob of Buford and Franklin D. Woodall, Jr. and wife Susannah of Dahlonega; nine grandchildren, Allison, Jennifer, Max, Ben, Dennis, Jake, Victoria, Zach and Will; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Pierson of McDonough; and several nieces and nephews. Cryptside funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 12, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Oak Hill Cemetery Mausoleum.
