Janice R. (Wehrman) Piehl, age 76, of Ashwaubenon, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from complications of MS with her daughter and son at her side. Janice was born June 30, 1948, to the late Don J. and Ruth L. (Genens) Wehrman. Janice lived her whole life in Green Bay, graduating third in her academic class at West High School and went on to also graduate from NWTC. She worked for various agents with Farmers Insurance for 37 years, receiving the Customer Service Superstar Award in 2004. This designation was given to only 400 representatives out of 10,000 company-wide. She truly loved her job and treated her clients like family.
On September 2, 1967, she married the love of her life, John "Jack" Lawrence Piehl, at Grace Lutheran Church in Green Bay, WI. They welcomed a daughter, Diane Christine, in 1970 and then in 1975, a son, Michael John. Janice and Jack faced a lot of hardships in their marriage, but their love only got stronger.
Janice loved going Up North. For 40 years they spent their vacations at Rustlewood Resort in Three Lakes, WI. In June of 2002, they, along with their daughter, Diane, were able to purchase one of the cottages. They so enjoyed fishing in the early years and then cruising the chain of lakes on the family's pontoon boat.
Janice loved playing cards, putting together jigsaw puzzles, singing (she could always break into a song), and all animals, especially dogs. She was a true Packers fan, which she inherited from her father and passed on down to her children. She especially loved traveling all over the United States with her daughter, Diane. She loved her trips out west to the Rocky Mountains.
Survivors include her children, Diane C. Piehl of Ashwaubenon, WI and Michael J. (Kelly) Piehl of DePere, WI; a special sister-in-law ("sister"), Karen Lenz of Green Bay, WI; her nephew and godson, Ryan (Stephanie) Lenz and their children, Harper, Bella, and Julianna; her nephew Nick (Charity) Lenz and their children Thomas and Zach; her nephew Marc and son Dylan; her special cousin, Mary Weber; her Rustlewood family, and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jack; her parents, Don and Ruth (Genens) Wehrman; her brother John "Jack" Wehrman; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, John "Jack" W. and Marion (Supernand) Piehl; two brothers-in-law; her grandparents, Abe and Pearl (Reukema) Genens and John and Beatrice (Grandall) Wehrman; and her beloved dogs, Charlie, Riley, and Payton.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at 6 p.m. at The Lyndahl Funeral Home. The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the services. Entombment will take place at Fort Howard Mausoleum at a later date.
