Janice Carol Rippinger (nee Deist) passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on July 1, 2025, in North Aurora Illinois. She was born on November 5, 1941 to Robert E Ankeny and Bette J Mitchell.
Jan graduated from East Aurora High School in June 1960, and worked at Provena Mercy Medical Center for over 20 years. She enjoyed being involved with her children and grandchildren; she was troop leader for Girls Scouts and Brownies as well as pack leader for Cub Scouts when her children attended St. Rita of Cascia School. Her grandchildren fondly remember the many trips to Missouri to the farm and cabin in the Northwood's. You could usually find her with a puzzle book or crocheting a blanket during her spare time.
Jan is survived by her five children Jon (Michelle) Rippinger, Phillip Jr (Karen) Rippinger, Elizabeth (Jamie) Rusch, Tricia (Joseph) Waterson, Jennifer Thompson (Tom) and her brothers Kip (Joanie) Deist, Roger (Martha) Ankeny and Bruce (Linda) Ankeny, her great Niece Kimberly McNish (Bernie) Frieders. Jan is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, Her Best Friend Mary and her beloved Skeeter.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband Philip, beloved mother, Bette Deist, and her father, Milzor "Bill" Deist.
Jan will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends.
Janice's presence brought light and joy to those around her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 7th at The Daleiden Mortuary (220 N. Lake St. Aurora, IL 60506) from 4-7 pm.
Funeral services will be held at Annunciation Church on Tuesday, July 8th 2025 at 10am. Interment will follow at Marywood Cemetery.
The family would like to give special thanks to the many people that touched Jan's life, including Maria with Seniors helping Seniors, The Bickford of St. Charles and Lighthouse Hospice Services.
