Janice L. Tegtmeyer, 77, of Ottawa, KS passed away Sunday June 9, 2024 at Rock Creek in Ottawa. She was born January 28, 1947 in Ottawa, Kansas to Raymond Sr. and Edna (Pearce) Tegtmeyer.
She raised two children, Dawn and Marc.
She worked at King Radio, Allied Signal, and Suntron, and then retired from Castle Creations in 2015.
She was known as "Aunt Janny" to her nieces, nephews, and family friends.
She decorated cakes for all occasions, at Easter the kitchen was filled with little Easter Bunny Cakes. She spent many hours fishing. Ponds, rivers, or lakes she fished them all. She enjoyed reading, watching game shows, playing Gameboy and crocheting. Many people have snuggled in an afghan she has made. She could watch all sports, but she especially enjoyed time with Marc watching the Chiefs play football.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Eddie and Walter, sister Susie McCurdy and nephew Ricky McCurdy.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Tegtmeyer of Ottawa, KS and Marc Tegtmeyer and his wife, Melissa, of Ottawa, KS; brother Dale Tegtmeyer and his wife, Cindy, of Ottawa, KS; brother-in-law, Billy McCurdy of Waverly, KS; sister-in-law, Brenda Tegtmeyer of Ottawa, KS; and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation is planned. Memorial Contributions may be made out to Prairie Paws Animal Shelter and sent c/o Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 14, Ottawa, KS 66067. Condolences may be sent to the family through www.lamb-roberts.com.
