Janice Thompson Obituary

She was born January 27, 1947 in Alamance County, daughter of the late Wade and Alene Thomas.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Mike Thompson; daughter, Ashley Psioda and husband Matt of Hillsborough; son Jason Thompson of the triangle area; two grandchildren, Ellie and Michael Psioda; brother, Wade H. Thomas of Alamance Co. and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brother, Edward Thomas; and four sisters, Doris Thompson, Sally Apple, Sylvia King, and Frances James.
Janice was a member of the Burgaw Presbyterian Church and the women's Sunday school class. She made many friends through her cleaning business. Janice rarely met a stranger and would strike up a conversation with anyone, a trait her granddaughter inherited from her. She had a knack for interior decorating. Janice loved her family and dearly loved her grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday October 15, 2025 at Burgaw Presbyterian Church. Reverend Robert Bayley will officiate. Burial will follow in the church columbarium.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Burgaw Presbyterian Church PO Box 565 Burgaw, NC 28425.

My most heartfelt sympathies to my friend Mike for such a devastating loss. Janice was such a sweet soul with a ready smile. It was always a treat to enjoy her company in my old wine bar and whenever running into her in town. Mike, keep in mind you have many friends holding you in their hearts and thoughts and I for one, always welcome a visit should you wish to head up this way. My condolences to the entire family.

Janice was one of those people you could easily talk to. We worked together at a jewelry store years ago and she treated me like family from day one . We walked together and talked a lot. I missed her so much when she moved to Burgaw . Hugs and love to you Mike ,Ashley and Jason.
