Janice Darlene Wallenbrock

Surrounded by love, Janice Darlene Stine Wallenbrock, 78, of Versailles, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, October 13, 2025, at St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.
Born July 18, 1947, in Mercer County, she was the daughter of the late Clifton Stine and Ella Bell Nichols. Janice was married for 46 wonderful years to the late Gene Edward "Jake" Wallenbrock, who passed away in 2020. Together they built a loving home centered around faith, family, and service to others.
Janice is survived by her two daughters, Sherri Ellen Tompkins and Terri Jean Waller (Mobius "Moby" Waller); and her beloved granddaughter, Julia Tompkins, who brought her great joy. She is also survived by three sisters: Joann Hall, Jean Ballard, and Dania Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Sympson.
Janice was employed at both K-Mart and YH America, where she worked as a line worker. She also devoted many years as a homemaker-caring for her family with love and dedication. During her daughters' childhood, she was an active leader with the Girl Scouts, always encouraging the girls to learn, grow, and give back. She was the rock of their family - steady, strong, and full of love. Her quiet faith and gentle spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
A faithful member of the Versailles Church of Christ, Janice loved the Lord deeply and served Him for many years. She and Jake were strong supporters of the church's youth programs, often helping with CYC, Bible Bowl, and other youth activities. One of their favorite traditions was traveling to Tennessee for the Diana Singing, where they found joy in fellowship and song.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 19, 2025, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Versailles Church of Christ. The funeral service will take place on Monday, October 20, 2025, at 11:00 AM, with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 12:00 PM.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mobius "Moby" Waller, Aiden Rice, Marty Milliken, Jim Sympson, Laddie Haggard, and Rick Devers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CYC Youth Program at the Versailles Church of Christ, a cause dear to Janice's heart.
