Janie Lopez, of Wilson, Texas, a beloved homemaker and cherished member of her community, was born on January 27, 1973, in Lubbock, Texas. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the age of 52 surrounded by her loving family.
Growing up in Lubbock, Janie attended Lubbock High School. Janie found great fulfillment in her role as a homemaker, dedicating her life to creating a nurturing and loving environment for her family. She had a profound love for music and dancing; those who knew her remember her vibrant spirit lighting up any room. She delighted in the beauty of her surroundings, which included a passion for collecting lighthouses—symbols of guidance and hope that resonated deeply with her.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 32 years, Abel Lopez of Lubbock; two sons: Austin Castillo of Lubbock and Lance Lopez of Lubbock; siblings, Jessica Castillo, Norma Castillo, Rosemary Castillo, and Julian Castillo; and her two granddaughters, Lyla and Camilla. Janie was preceded in death by one daughter, Ariel Lopez in 2001.
