Janis Noreen (Hollowell) Keele, age 89 of Covington, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 30, 2025. She was born in Covington, Indiana on July 7, 1935, to the late Lester & Minnie (Gray) Hollowell.
Janis graduated from Perrysville High School and on June 19, 1954, she married the love of her life, Kenton Keith Keele, who preceded her in death on April 20, 2017. She was a loving mother and homemaker. Throughout the years she was a substitute teacher, realtor, bookkeeper for Warrick Motor Company for 10 years, and a supervisor at Shawnee Learning Center for 10 years. She enjoyed sewing and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Covington where she taught Sunday school for over 20 years and loved teaching all ages.
She is survived by 3 sons, Steven Keele of Greencastle, Douglas (Trisha) Keele of Avon, and Matthew (Leah) Keele of Covington; a daughter, Susan Cadman of Plainfield; a daughter-in-law, Rickie Keele of Danville, Illinois; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Kenton Keele; a son, Mark Keele; son-in-law, Wayne Cadman; daughter-in-law, Robin Keele; two brothers, Bill and Daryle Hollowell; and three sisters, Leah Miller, Mary Clodfelder, and Lois Marshall.
Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, 515 6th Street, in Covington on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 11:00am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00pm with Pastor Andy Harkleroad officiating. Burial will follow at the Danville VA National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to Kenton. Sanders Funeral Care entrusted with care.
