Jannie Beard Obituary
Jannie was born in Rome, Georgia, on May 27, 1945, son of the late William Griffin Caldwell and the late Annie Laura Davis Caldwell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Julius Leon Beard, brothers, Calvin Calwell, Marvin Caldwell, Tom Caldwell, John Caldwell, Monroe Caldwell and George Caldwell, and by her twin sister, Jennie Caldwell Nelson. Jannie was a graduate of Model High School and was a member of New Armuchee Baptist Church. Jannie worked in the textile industry for Galey and Lord until she retired in 2004. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend; she will be missed by all of her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Anthony Leon Beard; daughter, Melissa Renee Beard; grandson, Markevus DJuan Beard; sisters, Mary Jane Caldwell Spiller and Martha Caldwell Hicks; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in the Chapel at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, with Dr. David Howard officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Henderson & Sons Funeral Home, North Chapel, on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 12:00 pm until 1:45 pm.

Jannie was such a sweet lady. I came to know her through Mary Jane, Martha and our Friendly River Homemaker Club. She was always willing to make her famous banana pudding which everyone loved. She has been missed since she moved from Rome and we will continue to pray for her family.
