Jacquelyn Ann Brown (Jackie) passed away in Rome, Georgia on January 14, 2026, at age 79 after a long battle with respiratory disease. She is remembered for her smart, inquisitive mind and her adventuresome spirit by all who knew her.
Jackie was born at the Olean General Hospital in Olean, New York on September 28, 1946, to the late Paul W. Brown and Elizabeth J. Brown (Burlingame). She graduated from Hinsdale Central School as the class salutatorian in 1964. She was involved in many activities including band, chorus, school plays and yearbook staff. Her senior year she was the editor of the yearbook and president of the National Honor Society. She was an excellent pianist and organist and played the church organ at the Methodist Church in Olean as a teenager.
After high school she attended and graduated from the Olean Business Institute.
She was employed by the AB Dick, Dun & Bradstreet, Hudson Hotels, Seagate Hotel and Beach Club, the Lupus Foundation and retired in 2020 from Pinetree Golf Course and Resort in Boynton Beach, FL.
Jackie loved to travel. In her 40's she purchased a pop-up camper and traveled alone across the United States enjoying all the sights and sounds around her. She was also an avid animal lover, always having one or more pets to keep her company.
Jackie is survived by her sister Barbara Natale (John) of Canandaigua, New York, her brother Steve Brown of Hinsdale, New York and her brother Tom Brown (Cindy) of Rome, Georgia. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and cousins, particularly her twin nephews with whom she shared many adventures.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at the Trinity by the River Global Methodist Church, 606 Turner McCall Blvd. NE, Rome, GA on Saturday, January 31 with visitation at 10:30 followed by a service at 11:30. The Reverend Kevin Lobello will officiate.
Her ashes will be interred at the Hinsdale Cemetery in New York.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Trinity by the River church.
