Jared R. Barrett, born on December 6, 1998, in Dayton, Ohio, left a lasting impression on all those who knew him. He passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2025, in Dayton, leaving behind a legacy of love, loyalty, and kindness that will not be forgotten.

A proud graduate of the Stebbins High School class of 2017, Jared was an enthusiastic member of the marching band, where he developed a lifelong passion for music and camaraderie. He was a hard worker who balanced his time between roles at Kroger and McDonald's, showcasing his dedication and work ethic. Beyond his professional commitments, Jared enjoyed sharing fun facts during visits to places like the aquarium, always eager to engage and share knowledge with others.

Known for his goofy and quirky personality, Jared had a unique ability to make those around him smile. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back, embodying a spirit of generosity and warmth. His passion for life extended to his hobbies, which included enjoying video games and being an avid sports fan, especially cheering for the Cavaliers and Steelers. Jared also held a special connection to the American Heart Association, participating in walks in honor of his parents, showcasing his deep appreciation for family and health awareness.

Jared is survived by his brothers, Bill Barrett and Nate Barrett; his beloved aunt, Jodi (Brad) Beck; his uncle, Larry (Charlene) Barrett; and many cousins including Jesse, Dustin (Stephanie), Brandon (Jennifer), and Kelly (Scott). He also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends who cherished him dearly, and his beloved dog, Heidi.

Jared was preceded in death by his father, William Barrett; his mother, Erica Barrett; as well as his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his uncle, Johnny Barrett.

Jared will be sorely missed, but his spirit will live on through the memories and the lives he touched. His quirky humor, kindness, and unwavering loyalty will be forever remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 4-5:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424. A celebration of life will follow at 5:30pm.  

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jared's family to help with final expenses.
