Jared Richmond

Jared Jong Richmond, age 35, passed away on March 2, 2023. Jared was born in Pusan, South Korea on January 3, 1988. He was adopted that year by Jim and Connie Richmond and received his US citizenship in December 1990. Jim and Connie had previously adopted a Korean girl, Courtney, and she enthusiastically took on the role of big sister. Jared was raised in Abingdon, Maryland and was baptized into the Episcopal Church while attending St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Abingdon. There he completed church school and served as an acolyte. He graduated from Bel Air High School and obtained a Varsity Letter as a member of the golf team. He so enjoyed golf that he attended a golf academy in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for year after High School. After the golf academy Jared attended college at Northern Kentucky University for one year. He then returned to Maryland and resided in several different locations around the Baltimore area. His last residence was a rented townhouse in Nottingham, MD where he lived with Brittany, a longtime friend, and two well-loved dogs. He served in the restaurant business and worked several years at The Cheesecake Factory in Towson, Maryland. Jared is survived by his grandmother, father, mother, two uncles, sister and niece. He will be greatly missed by his family. A memorial gathering will be held in the future with date and venue to be determined.
