In Loving Memory of Jared Matthew Thomas

With shattered hearts and profound sorrow, we announce the passing of Jared Matthew Thomas, age 23, of White Plains, NY, on July 6, 2025.
Jared was born on January 25, 2002, in Sleepy Hollow, New York, to Corey Thomas and Tiffany Jenkins. He was the cherished younger brother of Briana Peebles. He shared a very close and meaningful bond with his parents and sister. From the very beginning, Jared brought joy, light, and love into their lives. He especially treasured the time spent with family, creating memories that will be held close forever.
Jared grew up in White Plains, where he attended Church Street Elementary School, White Plains Middle School, White Plains High School and then graduated from Woodlands High School in 2020. Throughout his school years, Jared was known for his natural curiosity, charisma, and genuine kindness.
Jared had a natural talent and passion for basketball from a young age. He was nurtured by some wonderful and dedicated coaches and played with some of the best teammates; all of whom turned into his extended family. He started with White Plains Recreation and Parks, then various AAU teams. His most notable time was with the East Coast Panthers. In high school, he played for both White Plains High School and Woodlands High School.
After high school, Jared pursued a career in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), a field he quickly came to love. He attended SUNY - Westchester Community College HVAC program, where he earned certificates of completion. His dedication to learning the trade and growing his skills was evident to everyone around him.
Jared was proud to work for Robison Oil, where he was a valued member of the team. He approached his work with professionalism, pride, and a strong work ethic. Whether diagnosing a system issue or helping a customer in need, Jared was known for his attention to detail and calm, dependable presence. He was thriving in his career and excited about his future in the industry.
Jared's life was filled with love, laughter, and the unbreakable bonds of family. He always had an infectious smile, one that could light up a room and put others at ease. It reflected his kind heart and calm spirit, and those who knew him will always remember the quiet joy he brought with just a glance. His passing leaves a silence that echoes with all the things he meant to so many, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
He is survived by his parents, Corey Thomas (Monique) and Tiffany Jenkins; his sister, Briana Peebles; his great grandmother, Helen C. Jenkins; grandparents, Michelle Coram, and Leon and Doris (Mae) Thomas; along with many loving family members and close friends who love and will forever miss him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, July 18th at Ballard Durand located at 2 Maple Ave, White Plains, NY.
Family-only: 5:00 PM - 5:30 PM
Open to all friends, colleagues, and extended community: 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
