Jason Beever Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hope Memorial Chapel - Biddeford on Jul. 15, 2025.
Jason Beever, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2025, with his family by his side on the Full "Buck" Moon. He was born on August 27, 1964, in Gorham, Maine, the fourth child of Jane A. and John S. "Mike" Beever. A 1983 graduate of Gorham High School, Jason was an award-winning pole vaulter and a proud Eagle Scout of Troop 73.
Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Jason enlisted in the U.S. Army and served honorably as a paratrooper in the 4/325 Airborne Battalion Combat Team in Vicenza, Italy, from 1984 to 1987. His service included a winter as a downhill ski and winter survival instructor. After returning home, he earned a degree in Business Administration from the University of Maine in 1992.
Following the completion of his studies, Jason became the fourth generation of his family to lead the C.E. Carll Insurance Agency, named after his great-grandfather. A respected professional, he served as President of the Maine Independent Insurance Agents Association and as a two-term President of the Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Club-the only person to have held that distinction. He also served for many years on the board of the Gorham Business & Civic Exchange.
In 1997, Jason married the love of his life, Linda, and embraced her children as his own. With passion, patience, and presence, he built a life centered around his family, his hunting and fishing buddies, shared laughter, and time outdoors.
Jason was an adventurous soul who lived with joy and intention. He found peace in nature-whether hiking mountain trails, casting lines into quiet waters, or skiing fresh powder at Sugarloaf, where he had been a proud 'Sugarloafer' since boyhood. He loved riding his motorcycle, boating across Maine's lakes, or simply feeling the wind in his hair. To be moving and outside was to be alive in his eyes.
In 2015, Jason retired to his family farmhouse in Eustis, Maine, where he found peace in the quiet beauty of the Western Mountains. He loved to garden and had always dreamed of being a farmer in overalls-in many ways, he became just that. He was an avid New England sports fan-and a passionate golfer who found joy in the solitude of the game.
Jason was also a committed conservationist, involved with organizations including Ducks Unlimited, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Coastal Conservation Association, Sportsman's Alliance of Maine, Windham-Gorham Rod & Gun Club, and the Maine Snowmobile Association to name a few.
A gifted writer, he contributed thoughtful columns to local papers, blending his professional knowledge with his love for the outdoors. He met his final years with grace and resilience as he navigated the challenges of dementia.
Jason is survived by his beloved wife, Linda A. Beever; his children, Amber Hoxha and Michael Gallant; and his cherished grandchildren, Ari and Nini Hoxha. He is also survived by his loyal dog, Tink; his siblings, Jenn Causey, Mark Beever, and Rachel Lyon; and his sister-in-law, Aly Bagley-along with their spouses and many loving nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his younger brother and hunting companion, Eben Beever (2008), and by his parents, Jane Beever (2008) and Mike Beever (2015).
In keeping with his generous and forward-thinking nature, Jason will be donating his body to the University of New England's Medical Studies program. He was always proud to be an organ donor, viewing it as one final way to help others even after his passing.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sedgewood Commons and Affinity Care Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion during Jason's final months.
A celebration honoring his life will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at The Stone Barn in Standish, Maine. Please bring a story to share.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jason's memory may be made to the Westbrook-Gorham Rotary Foundation P.O. Box 91 Westbrook, ME 04098.
