Jason Mocko Obituary

Jason Mocko was born to Lee and Gayle Mocko on March 10, 1980. He was soon joined by younger brother, Devin, a year and a half later. No, they were not twins, just buddies. Jason attended Hellgate Grade School and Big Sky High School. He was employed by Dailey Meats for 26 years. His career was cut short by a vicious dog attack from which he never fully recovered physically, emotionally or mentally.

The boys were raised in a Westside neighborhood, an area that they and their friends roamed from toddlers to teens. One friend, Billy, faced with two friends named Jason, changed their names to Roger and Sherman, names that stuck all their lives.

Jason was a Missoula Guy. He grew up a Montana kid fishing, hiking, swimming, and rafting. He lived here all his life and loved the rivers, lakes and mountains of Montana. As an adult there wasn’t a comedian he hadn’t heard of a comedy he hadn’t seen; he loved to laugh. Jason was a consummate gamer. He had every console and switch and played games for hours.

Jason was preceded in death by his brother, Devin Mocko, grandfather, Gaylord R. Berlin, grandmother, Alice M. Morgan, step-grandfather, Bill Morgan, grandfather, Steve Mocko and cousin, Kim Jackson.

He is survived by his father, Lee Mocko, and his mother, Gayle Mocko (Rob Foote); uncles, Steve Mocko and Jim Jackson; aunts, Judy Morgan and Lisa Baier (Dave); “The Dudes”, Bill Blodgett and Jason Kent; and of course, his favorite great aunt and uncle, Judy and Sid Bullets; many other close friends, cousins and numerous other relatives. There will be a celebration of Jason’s life at a later date.

Jason is no longer in pain… the etching is gone from his face… he was loved.
