Jason (Jay) Piccirillo, age 54, of Bridgeport, entered into eternal rest on Friday, April 18, 2025.

Born in Bridgeport, CT, to the late Andrew (Andy) Piccirillo and the late Lucille Salvaggio Piccirillo. Jay was the owner and operator of Micalizzi's Italian Ice in Bridgeport. The Piccirillo family has been operating Micalizzi's since the 1980's and after Andy passed away at the young age of 38, Lucille operated the business on her own while raising two children. As years went on, and with his mother by his side, Jay was able to expand the family business into a landmark in the community. It was Andy's dream to grow the business, and Jay was able to make his dream come true, beyond what anyone could ever imagine.

His love and legacy will live on through his son, Gennaro Piccirillo; his sister Bridget Palmieri; his brother-in-law David Palmieri; his nephew Christian Moura and niece Lia Moura; his aunts Joann Wirth and Annette Verdisco; his uncle Anthony Piccirillo, and his girlfriend Sally Ann Lemke, along with many cousins, and a community of close friends who he loved deeply.

Jay had a deep appreciation for music, played the bass in rock bands, and idolized the band KISS. He developed a passion for lifting weights, and held the title of Mr. Connecticut, as well as being a national weightlifting champion and was inducted into the CT powerlifting hall of fame. He'll forever be known as the "Iceman" as he loved to entertain and was proud to serve the city of Bridgeport through charitable events, volunteering, and his signature fireworks shows. His legacy will live on as an icon and legend who served his community with honor and love.

Jay had a contagious smile, was lovable, generous, sympathetic, and made a difference in people's lives. He had a compassionate heart and was a caring soul towards every person he met. He carried warmth, and made people feel seen, heard, valued and loved. He touched the lives of many, and will leave an unfillable void to those he touched. Above everything, he was a devoted father, and his son was his greatest pride and joy.

A service to honor and celebrate Jay's life will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church, located at 851 North Avenue, Bridgeport, CT. Following the service, the funeral will continue to St. Michael's Cemetery in Stratford, where Jay will be laid to rest.

Dear Bridget & Family,

I was so sorry to learn of the death of your brother. Way too young to leave his earthly home. May you find comfort in knowing he is now with your parents and I'm sure they welcomed him with open arms.
Take good care of yourself during this stressed filled time and may the good memories you shared sustain you and yours.

With deepest sympathy,
Cheryl & Andy Bess (cousin of Carole Elliano)

My sincerest condolences to Gennaro, JoAnn Wirth, Bridget Palmieri, Christian & Lia Moura, & the rest of the family, especially Kim& Pam. I will always remember Jay as the one who took his cousin Ralph Risi to the WWF! Ralphie would call me up to let me know all about the wrestling matches.
