Jason Michael Reier, born on July 1, 1984, in Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025, in Naperville, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with stage 4 colon cancer. Jason, a beloved family member and friend, passed away leaving behind memories of his vibrant personality, kind heart, and many passions that brought joy to those who knew him. Jason received his bachelor's degree from Ball State University and went on to build a meaningful career with The City of Aurora Parks Department, where he contributed his talents and dedication to serving the community. On April 25, 2015, Jason married the love of his life, Joy Lockett, in a beautiful ceremony at White Eagle Country Club in Naperville, Illinois. He was a lifelong sports fan who found excitement in cheering on his favorite teams; the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. Whether it was baseball in the summer or football in the fall, Jason's dedication and enthusiasm for his teams never wavered. Beyond sports, Jason was a true Disney connoisseur, finding delight in the magic, stories, and imagination that Disney brought into his life. He carried that same sense of wonder into his love of Christmas, a holiday he cherished for its spirit of joy, family, and togetherness. He also had a sharp and curious mind. He was a trivia enthusiast and board game savant, always ready for a challenge and often the person everyone wanted on their team. His love of knowledge extended into his passion for reading, making him a devoted bookworm who was constantly exploring new ideas and stories. Jason's warmth, humor, and genuine love for life made him someone people gravitated toward. He will be remembered not only for his many hobbies and passions but also for the love he gave to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife, Joy Lockett; their cherished daughter, Lily Reier; his parents, David F. & Brenda C. (Henn) Reier; his brother, Joey (Melissa Alger) Reier; his sisters, Brittany Reier and Heather (Erik) Friesen; his nephew, Jacob Friesen, his in-laws Bill & Lynn Lockett, his brother-in-law, Jay (Lisa) Lockett his niece and nephew Logan and Lucy Lockett; as well as many extended family members and friends who will carry his memory in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Marianne Reier, and his maternal grandparents, Nicholas and Dolores Henn. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at The Daleiden Mortuary, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora, Illinois, with a wake service beginning at 4:00 p.m. A funeral Mass will follow on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 722 High Street, Aurora, Illinois, with Father Leake officiating. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery will take place at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made in Jason's honor to the Colon Cancer Coalition or to the National Parks Conservation Association.
