no pudimos hacerte quedar.

Javier Villegas, 51, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, surrounded by his devoted family. Born in Arroyo Verde, Michoacán, Mexico, on December 3, 1973, he was the beloved son of Rosa Borja and the late Jose Villegas. He is preceded in death by his brother Misael and his sister America, who now welcome him with open arms.

Javier grew up in Smithville, where he became a familiar and friendly face to all—he truly never met a stranger. His early years were filled with a passion for cars, especially his cherished Impala, and a remarkable talent for drawing. Javier also found joy in nature—fishing at Ship’s Lake and tending lovingly to his garden, where his green thumb was unmatched. Gardening wasn’t just a hobby; it was an art form, and he was the best around.

What truly set Javier apart was his generous heart. He gave selflessly, often quietly, never seeking recognition—just the joy of helping others. To his family, Javier was the cornerstone: the one who kept everyone connected, who brought laughter to every gathering, and who always had a joke or a warm smile ready.

He was a devoted son, a protective and caring big brother, a loyal friend, a loving father, and a proud grandfather. His presence brought light and humor to those lucky enough to know him, and his absence leaves a deep ache in countless hearts.

Javier is lovingly remembered by his mother, Rosa Borja, his four brothers, five sisters, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. And by his four beloved children: Ariana Villegas, Javier Villegas, Nick Villegas, and Atyson Villegas; and his four cherished grandchildren: Nalaya Evans, Naomi Evans, Nayeli Evans, and Zalia Villegas. His legacy lives on through them—in their laughter, their strength, and their love.

His loss is immeasurable, but so is the love he gave, and the memories he leaves behind.

God saw you getting tired,

And a cure was not to be.

So He put His arms around you

And whispered, “Come home to Me.”

With tearful eyes we watched you,

And saw you slip away.

Although we loved you dearly,

We could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating,

Hard-working hands at rest.

God broke our hearts to prove to us,

He only takes the best.

Always in our hearts. Forever in our memories.

Thank you, Dad, for loving us so compassionately.
