Jay Brent Mecredy

Jay Brent Mecredy, a beloved husband, father, son, and brother, passed away on February 15, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 54. Born on May 2, 1971, in Fort Benning, Georgia, he will be remembered for the joy he brought to the lives of all who knew him.

Jay received his Bachelor's Degree in Geography from Radford University and was proud to be a Brother in the Fraternity of Alpha Chi Rho - The Crows. He lived a bold life and achieved success in many different fields, each one representing his diverse talents and interests.

He loved the outdoors, music, and adventure of all kinds. Mostly, he loved his Family.

Jay is survived by his devoted wife, Karin Mecredy; his father, Robert Mecredy; his beloved children, Marlo and Myles; and his Brother, Scott Mecredy, Sister-in-Law Alicia, and Nieces, Jordan and Addison. He is proceeded in death by his Mother Brenda Mecredy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Jay's memory to the Foundation inspired by his Mother, Grace Note Foundation for Music Education. The foundation focuses on using music to help people, especially children.
