Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for Jean' Aldus Lasseigne, 86, who passed at his residence away on November 19, 2025.
Jean' was born on January 22, 1939, in Catahoula, were he grew up on the lake.
Jean' faced life's challenges with unwavering strength and resilience, having lost his father at a young age. He took on work early in life to support his family, which laid the foundation for his strong work ethic. After beginning his career in the oilfield, he found his true calling as a fisherman, where his wife worked along side him.
Jean' found joy in dancing with his beloved wife at La Poussiere, where music and laughter filled their days. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were treasures of his heart. In the early morning hours, he was often at the oven baking treats for family and friends. He enjoyed long visits and sending everyone home with both his love and home baked treats.
He is survived by his daughters, Yvonne Douet and Karen (Bobbie) Angelle; grandchildren, Brandon (Nicole) Angelle, Brooks Angelle, Brock (Kassidy) Angelle and Jean (Klaire) Douet; great-grandchildren, Brody Angelle, Braxton Angelle, Adley-Grace Angelle, Braydon Douet and Jaxon Douet; sister, Neolie L. Champagne; and his brother, Eugene Lasseigne.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Arthemise "Jane" Lasseigne; son-in-law, Michael Douet; parents, Adolph and Mathile Theriot Lasseigne; and his brothers, Avie Lasseigne, Ernest Lasseigne, Armond Lasseigne, Oneal Lasseigne, and Albert Lasseigne.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Hope Hospice.
