Loving wife to Allen J. Bojes. Kind sister to James "Jay" (Sally) Harrison, Jr. and Heather (Martin) Pangelinan. Fond aunt to Joe and Sarah Chiesa. Caring great-aunt to Samantha and Chloe. Dear sister-in-law to Gary (Iza Plucinska) Bojes. Jean was preceded in death by her beloved parents, James and Edith Harrison.
We celebrate the incredible life of Jean Harrison Bojes, a former Assistant Professor of Music at Concordia University Chicago. Jean's journey includes 20 years of her enriching experience at Concordia University Chicago, where she honed her skills, embraced her love for music, and built lifelong connections. Throughout her time there, she had the privilege of teaching and mentoring hundreds of students, shaping the next generation of music teachers with her knowledge, patience, and dedication. Jean shared her gift of music on many stages both domestic and international. These experiences broadened her horizons, deepened her cultural appreciation, and solidified her commitment to using music as a universal language of unity and love. She very much enjoyed giving the commentary for the music at the U-Band concerts at Concordia University conducted by Rich Fischer her good friend and colleague.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, March 22, 2025, starting 10:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm at Kolssak Funeral Home, located at 189 S. Milwaukee Ave. (2 blocks south of Dundee Road) in Wheeling. Inurnment will be private.
In lieu of flowers donations to the American Cancer Society at https://donate.cancer.org in Jean's memory would be greatly appreciated.

I used to get a message from Jean Harrison here and there who was the church organist and choir director for awhile at Fourth Congregational Church in Chicago. In checking her Facebook page today, I was sad to learn she passed away. On a personal note, she was always so supportive and complimentary to my late mom, and although my mother was mostly self-taught and didn´t have the professional credentials of Jean, she always treated her like an equal and they had many piano and organ duets together at church. While my mother wasn´t trained as an organist, Jean gave her the confidence and privilege to fill in for Jean when she was on vacation. Rest in Peace Jean.

I was a colleague of Jean's at Concordia University Chicago. We happily crossed paths so many times as she headed to a rehearsal or music class. I was in the art gallery installing art or heading to teach my art classes. I fondly recall her humor, laughter and dedication to music and her students. I am saddened by her untimely passing. I send my deepest sympathy to her husband and family. She made a difference and will be missed. I know her love of music and spirit will live on in her many many students.
