Jean Ann Buersmeyer, age 78, of Jefferson City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at the University of Missouri Hospital, surrounded by her family. She is the daughter of the late Frank and Pauline (Brunnert) Gannon. Jean was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 13, 1947 and grew up in Argyle, Missouri.

She was united in marriage on August 7, 1971 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Westphalia, to the late Rick Buersmeyer, who passed away in October of 2008. Throughout their 37 years of marriage, they had one daughter, Stacey, and spent lots of time at the softball fields, traveling to Las Vegas to vacation and later enjoying their two grandchildren, Hunter and Dawson.

Jean attended, with her identical twin sister Joan, Argyle Elementary School, as well as Fatima High School in Westphalia, MO, graduating in 1965. She later in life graduated from Metro Business College, earning her associates degree.

She began her employment working for the State of Missouri, Department of Revenue. Jean then started her career in Human Resources, spending 22 years at Westinghouse Electric, and finishing with the Missouri Department of Transportation. After retirement, she volunteered at St. Joseph Catholic School in Westphalia. She enjoyed helping Sister Clara, the art teacher, with class and spending time with the children, helping them with their art projects and creative ideas. Jean was very creative herself. A lot of Jean's summers were spent at the softball fields, following Rick and Stacey, while they played and coached the game they loved. Jean had a deep love for the simple joys in life. First and foremost, she loved her grandchildren, Hunter and Dawson, with all her heart. She also found happiness in capturing cherished memories. She was an avid scrapbooker, card creator and enjoyed bingo with family and friends. A very passionate genealogist, she spent countless hours tracing her family history, as well as the history of many other families in the community. Whenever asked, she would help numerous people begin the tracing of their family's history's. Genealogy sparked a love for Ireland that Jean carried with her always. She was able to fulfill her dream of visiting Ireland, along, with her sisters, in 2003.

Some of her fondest memories were spent at the Lake of the Ozarks, especially those quiet mornings sitting on the dock with a warm cup of coffee and her beloved sister, Joan, by her side. Above all, she treasured time with her grandchildren, Hunter and Dawson, whom she thought the world of.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Stacey Rademan (Mike); her two sons, Hunter and Dawson Rademan; Sisters; Sharon Murphy, Joan Philbert; Jackie Luetkemeyer (Blaine); Brother; Bob Gannon, Sister-in-law; Donna Schnitzler (Guy); Sandra Schollmeyer (Allen); Brother-in-law, Tom Buersmeyer (Melody); and Steve Buersmeyer. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Buersmeyer, her mother and father, Frank and Pauline (Brunnert) Gannon, Brother-in-laws; Bob Philbert, Jim Buersmeyer, and Dale Murphy; Sister-in-law, Judy Gannon, and her mother and father-in-law, Herb and Rosemary (Schoenen) Buersmeyer.

Friends and family will be received from 9:00 am to 11:00 am on Monday, July 28, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Westphalia. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 am with the Rev. James Finder officiating. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery.
