Obituary of Jean A. Crotser
Jean Crotser, a longtime resident of Haines City, FL, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2023, at the age of 92.
On July 29, 1930, Jean was born in Buffalo, NY, to George Williams and Myrtle Beranek. Jean's faith in God sustained her throughout her life and shaped the way she lived, as well as her interests and activities.
She graduated from Dansville Central High School and continued her education in nurses training at Highland Hospital in Rochester, NY, where she graduated with certification as an RN in 1951. On December 8, 1951, she married her childhood sweetheart Robert Crotser, and they raised their five children in Dansville, NY. Jean worked as an RN for about twenty-nine years between Dansville Memorial and Noyes Memorial hospitals in the OB/GYN unit; working as a supervisor for many of those years.
Her many hobbies/interests included teaching Sunday school, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, designing needlework projects, counted cross stitch, sewing, crossword puzzles, and solitaire.
Jean was predeceased by: her parents, George and Myrtle (Beranek) Williams; her brother Gordon Williams; her sister Margaret (Peggy) De Leo; her son David Crotser; son-in-law Peter Raimondo and daughter-in-law Mary Crotser.
Jean is survived by: her husband Robert (Haines City, FL) of 71 years; her brother Donald Williams (Haines City, FL); daughter Janet Stevens-Raimondo (Davenport, FL), son Ronald Crotser (Oneonta, NY), daughter Susan Brown (Gary) of (Lake Wales, FL), and son Michael Crotser (Cheryl) of (North Chili, NY).
She is also survived by eight grandchildren - Sean Stevens, Colin Stevens, Jim Brown, Sara Brown, Renee Crotser, Greg Crotser, Regina Crotser, and Jake Crotser, as well as eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Dundee Methodist Church (219 E Merrill Ave, Dundee, FL 33838) with a reception to follow at the church.
Jean will be interred at Greenmount Cemetery in Dansville, NY at a future date.
