Jean Frigen Obituary

Regina Eileen, daughter of John and Margaret (Belfield) Broline was born April 16, 1947 at Cedar Falls, Iowa, where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Hawkeye Tech in Waterloo, Iowa for nursing. After her schooling, Jean worked for a nursing home there before moving to Oakes. Jean had various jobs over the years, which included childcare, taking care of Henry & Mable Nelson, working at the Oakes Good Samaritan Society, the Pizza Ranch, Donna's Diner and Dickey County Social Services as an In Home Care Specialist 2.
On May 12, 1990, she married Larry Frigen of Oakes, and he became a husband, father and grandpa all in one day. Larry passed away on June 1, 2018.
Jean was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the Legion Auxiliary. Jean & Larry enjoyed spending some of the winter months in Florida. She also enjoyed sewing and reading.
She is survived by two daughters, Lynette Robinson of Palm Bay, FL and Lona McCoy of West Fargo, ND; seven grandchildren, Brett (Jay and children: Kamryn and Bryce) Salberg, Marissa (Chris and son: Maxwell) Tyre, Lane (Peeves) Waite, Colton (Isaac and Thor) Waite, Paige McCoy, Nic (Abby and son: Adam "Big A") Robinson and Trey (Laura and son: J.W.) Robinson. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, daughter Lori Salberg-Stevens, and her brothers, Richard and Robert Broline.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Oakes View Cemetery. Memories may be shared and viewed here.
