Jean Genuth, 91 of North Miami Beach, Florida passed away October 2, 2024. A Beloved Matriarch Jean Genuth, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, educator, and devoted member of the Young Israel Sisterhood, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024, at the age of 91. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Hyman, her brother Bob, and her beloved daughter April, Jean leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her sisters Sally, Margaret, Linda, and Sally Sarah; her children Sherry and Debra (husband Bruce); her grandchildren Mykal, Hilary, Lloyd, Bennet, Andrew; and her three great-grandsons, Gabriel, Elijah, and Franklin. Born in Jamestown, New York, in 1933, Jean grew up in Buffalo before moving to Miami in her early twenties. There, she met her beloved husband and together they raised three beautiful daughters. While working alongside her husband in the family restaurant, Jean nurtured a lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. Through dedication and hard work, she earned her Bachelor's degree in special education and found her true calling in teaching life skills to mentally challenged adults. Her rewarding career spanned many years, marked by her passion and commitment to her students. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Jean was a pillar of her community. As a devoted member of the Young Israel Sisterhood, she spearheaded numerous fundraising initiatives, including the annual calendar, and created a beautiful library. Her unwavering spirit and compassionate heart endeared her to countless friends and family members. Jean was a strong-willed, determined, and compassionate woman who will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory be a blessing.
