Jean Marie Henderson

Jean Marie Henderson, 88, of Battle Creek passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Jean was born October 25, 1937 in Battle Creek to Harry and Lola (Doolittle) Thornton. She was a graduate of Tekonsha High School. She worked for Michigan Bell, Transamerica Insurance and A-1 Auto Glass. Jean was a member of the Order of the Eagles and enjoyed hot air balloons, bowling, playing cards, scrabble and bunko with many special friends. She also volunteered at the World’s Longest Breakfast Table, Battle Creek Hot Air Balloons, Eagles, and other places.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Kathleen (Steve) Ragla; son, Randy (Pam) Johnson; stepsons, David Henderson, Dennis Henderson; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; brothers, Jerry (Dodie) Thornton and Kenneth Thornton and sister, Ann (Cindy) Thornton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Henderson and parents, Harry and Lola.

Jean’s family will receive friends for visitation Tuesday, November 11 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, where a service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Newbre Cemetery.
