Jean E. Hoffman, age 91, joined loved ones in Heaven on August 25, 2025. Preceded in death by parents Theodore and Olive Burris, brother Jack Burris, sister Joan Ayers, former husband Donald G. Hoffman, nephew Jackie Burris, great-great grandson Carter Gene Hoffman, and special friend Mark Jeffrey "Snuffy" Kealhier.
Jean worked as a secretary for the State of Ohio, a law office for 3 lawyers, the American Cancer Society and for Columbus City Schools for over 30 years before her retirement in 1998.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Catherine E. (Hoffman) Reedy and son Donald G. Hoffman, II (wife Cyd Ball), grandsons Jason Barnes, Joshua Reedy, Donald G. Hoffman III, Daniel Hoffman, Jeremy Ball and Jeffrey Hoffman. She is also survived by numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jean enjoyed socializing with family, playing cards, especially 31, poker, and Bingo.
She also made numerous donations to charities.
Visitation Tuesday, September 2, 2025 from 10:30am to 12:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway, Grove City, OH. Funeral to begin at 12:30pm. Interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery, Columbus, OH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jean's memory to St. Jude’s Children's Hospital.
