Jean Louise Ickes, 87, of Mount Vernon passed away on Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2025 at Danbury of Mount Vernon. She was born on September 4, 1938 in Williamsport, PA to the late Carlisle and Anna (Berrigan) Engle.
Jean was homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her family. Jean was a Catholic by faith.
Jean is survived by her sons, Lee Allen "Buzz" Ickes Jr. of Howard, Larry (Katie) Ickes of Lewisburg, WV and Brian Ickes of Howard; grandchildren, Caroline (Ben) Keating of Austin, TX, Andrew (Brandi) Ickes of Lewisburg, WV, Dr. Annie (Andrew Folsom) Ickes of Roanoke, VA, Mary Claire (Caleb) Warden of Austin, TX, David Ickes of Lewisburg, WV, Elizabeth Ickes and Sarah Ickes of Cincinnati, and Joe Ickes of Chillicothe; a sister, Sister Mary Annette of Middletown, NJ; and a brother, Carl Engle of Williamsport, PA.
In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Allen Ickes Sr.; and her stepmother, Helen Engle.
