Jean Ellen Schwiening Jacoby, 79, of Junction passed from this life on September 7, 2023 at a care facility in Menard.
Memorial services will be held 3:00 PM, September 9, 2023 at the First Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Myers officiating.
Jean was born October 4, 1943 in Sherman, Texas to Alfred Schwiening, Jr. and Sara Kathryn Arterberry Schwiening. Jean graduated high school at 16 and went to finishing school before attending Austin College where she graduated with a degree in English and History. She later obtained her masters at Angelo State in counseling. Her thirty-year career included teaching in Connecticut, South Carolina, Texas, and Poland. She ended her career as a high school counselor at JHS. In her retirement, she enjoyed travelling with her husband Ray and her friends. She also enjoyed giving advice, volunteering in the community, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ray Jacoby.
Those left to honor her memory include her sister, Clara St. Clair; children, Alfred Campbell and wife Sara; Bryan Campbell and wife Brandy; Ashley Craig and husband Dwayne; step-children, Jana Pridemore and husband Shane and Randa Jacoby; grandchildren, Michele O’Brien and husband Trey, Charlie Craig and partner Jena Broderick, Nick Campbell and wife Raicheal, Nelson Campbell, Al Campbell, Jr., Anna-Kate Campbell, Abigail Campbell; step-grandchildren, Brittany Roberts and husband Cody, Lindsey Valdez and husband Jacob, Bannon Wilson and wife Cheyenne, Jacy Gould and husband Duke; numerous great-grandchildren; and two nieces, Seletia Towns and Shellah Marsh.
