Staunton:
Jean Lindgens, 88, passed away and went to be with Jesus at 6:01pm on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Glenwood of Staunton. She was born on March 2, 1937, in East Troy, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late George and Mary Ann (Carruthers) Wentler. She married Leonard Lindgens on August 6, 1955, at the 1st United Methodist Church in Staunton and he survives. Other survivors include two daughters and sons in law: Gloria and Stephen Robichaud of Frisco, Texas, Carol and Tom Plogue of Greenville, Illinois, three sons and daughters in law: Dale and Angie Lindgens of the Island of Sardinia, Italy, David and Linda Lindgens of Worden, Illinois, Darryl and Paulette Lindgens of Buda, Texas, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great - great granddaughter, four sisters and three brothers in law: Sandra and George Colombo, Echo and Gary Reeves, Mary Edith Wentler, Virginia and Clyde Murphy, a brother and sister in law: Donald and Alicia Wentler, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
A preacher’s wife, Jean was formerly employed as a legal secretary and a DPS clerk. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Worden and was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter in Austin, Texas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers: Cloide Wentler, George Wentler, and Lloyd Wentler.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10am until time of services at 11am on Friday, October 10, 2025, at New Hope Baptist Church, 222 West Ahrens Street, Worden, Illinois, 62097. Pastor John Heater III will officiate. Burial will follow at Salem Cemetery in Alhambra.
Memorials are suggested to New Hope Baptist Church in Worden and will be accepted at the services.
