She was born November 22, 1957 in Fort Dix, NJ the daughter of the late Donald Wendt, Sr. and the late Barbara Edlen Wendt.
Jean was an angel on earth. A nurse for 41 years working at Orange Regional Medical Center Goshen Campus and the Middletown Campus; she was kind, compassionate, and selfless. She was proud of her accomplishments, but never boastful. Jean had a deep love for life and an adventurous spirit. Whether kayaking, swimming with dolphins, or helicoptering over volcanoes, Jean was always down to try something new.
Family was everything to Jean. She adored spending time with her two granddaughters, her siblings, and her friends. Her home and heart were always open and filled with love.
Jean is survived by her son Jason Lombardi, her daughter Diane Reinitz and her spouse James Reinitz, and her beloved granddaughters, Emelia and Adeline Reinitz. She is survived by her siblings Kevin Hay, Donald Wendt Jr. and his spouse Barbara Bronk and their son Dylan Wendt, Catherine Wendt Hernandez and her children Andrew Eismont, Heaven and Angel Porteous, along with Cathy's spouse Butch, Louis Wendt Sr. and his children Brian and Sean Wendt, Jerry Wendt, Bill Wendt, Chris Wendt and his spouse Nancy and their children Joshua and Faith, and close cousins Laura Hunt and Kim Ward and their families. She is predeceased by her niece Katilyn Wendt and nephew Louis Wendt Jr.
Visitation will be at GRAY-PARKER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 100 East Main Street Port Jervis on Sunday, October 27, 2024 from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM from Gray-Parker Funeral Home, Inc., 100 East Main Street, Port Jervis.
Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery, Sparrowbush, NY.
Memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, 225 Summit Ave., Montvale, NJ 07645.

I only met Jean a few years ago but it was long enough to see what a special person she was. Her sense of humor and zest for life were contagious. She was kind, gentle and loving to all and will truly be missed.
