Jean Shirley (Johnvin) Marshall, age 86 of Lakewood, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2025. Jean was born on June 26, 1939 to the late Phillip "Ole" and Elsie (Sandberg) Johnvin. She graduated from Suring High School with the class of 1958. Jean married Clifford G. Marshall on September 13, 1958 at Tabor Lutheran Church in Mountain; the couple had 55 wonderful years together until Cliff's passing. She was a talented cook and baker. Jean was known as the church potato salad maker for funerals and her several different kinds of cookies
Jean is survived by her children, Nadene (John) Stegall, Kevin Marshall, and Shirley (Dennis) Soulier; 6 grandchildren, Kendall (Brett) Martell, Dustin, Kayla Soulier, Brittney (Justin) Cleereman, Leah (Brad) Hillebrandt, Nicholas (Breanna) Marshall; 12 great-grandchildren, Jake and Matt Martell, Braylon, Isaiah, Owen, Noah, and Caleb Stegall, Walker and Avery Cleereman, Lexi and Caley Hubbard, and Dekker and Elsie Marshall; sister, Audrey Fonferek; special nephew, Ray Gardebrecht. Jean is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff; sister, Bess (Roger) Gardebrecht; brother-in-law, Joe Fonferek; beloved grandson, John Clifford Stegall.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in Suring (116 S. Krueger Street) from 9 am until 11 am. Jean will be interred beside Cliff at Lakewood Forest Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. The family would like to thank the staffs of Meadow View Assisted Living in Bonduel and Moments Hospice for the care and compassion offered to Jean during her time of need.
