Jean Phillips

Jean Phillips, cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, at the age of 87 in Dalton, Georgia. Born on Thursday, August 4th, 1938, in Austell, Georgia, Jean lived a full and vibrant life, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Jean was a beloved self-employed hairstylist whose creativity and passion for her work brought joy to her countless clients throughout the years. Her warmth and kindness were evident in every interaction, and her talent extended beyond hairstyling into the hearts of her community. She was a valuable member of her church family, from cooking for the kids, working with the youth and anywhere else she was needed.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Dewitt Talmage
Alexander and Virginia Alexander; mother, Margaret Elizabeth Johnson and her devoted husband, James Edgar Phillips. Her legacy continues through her loving family, who will hold her memory close: sons and daughters-in-law, Jeff and Karen Phillips, Greg and Leslie Phillips, Bruce and Leigh Phillips, all of Dalton; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Les Cole of Macon, Regina and Tony Bramblett of Dalton, Julie and Philip Hare. She was the adored grandmother to Andrea and Chad Johnson, Ashlee, Matthew, and Aubri Phillips, Joel and Sarah Brett Phillips, Josh, Jake, and Brooke Phillips, Caitlin and Justin Brooks, Bryce and Tori Middlebrooks, Alex, Mallory and Charlie Fisher, Zach and Ashlie Bramblett, and Dee, Luke.
Jean's life will be celebrated on Monday, November 24, 2025, from Macedonia Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at 4:00 p.m., officiated by Rev. David Eaton. Her grandsons will honor her by serving as pallbearers, carrying her with love and devotion.
Jean Phillips was a woman of grace, strength, and enduring love. Her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate to know her, and her spirit will continue to inspire future generations.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Julian Peeples Funeral Home - Pleasant Grove Chapel where friends and loved ones are invited to share their condolences and memories of Jean.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to Macedonia Baptist Church.
