On March 30, 2025, Jean Theaker passed away at home with family members surrounding her, she was 95. Jean was born in Long Beach, California, a native California gal. She went to Jordan High School, and then attended Compton College to study Art. While at Compton she met Earl Theaker. They married in 1949 and were together for over 70 years in Lomita. Earl and Jean had 4 kids: Susan Theaker, Robert Theaker, Laura Theaker-Hart, and Patti Theaker; 4 Grandsons; and 5 Great-grandsons. ALL boys, no girls.
Jean worked at Wilson's Department store and at Narbonne High School. In the 60's & 70's she painted the storefront windows along Lomita Blvd and Narbonne Ave during the Christmas season. She was active with Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Little League, Job's Daughters, and Future Farmers of America. Jean and Earl were very active with their church, St. Mark's Presbyterian. Jean loved to paint, sew, quilt, make cards, and most importantly collect dolls. She was the President of The Doll Federation. She traveled across the country to several conventions where she would give lectures on a variety of different dolls. These were just a few of her many passions. Jean was loving, giving, kind and caring. She will be greatly missed by all.
