Jean Ann Wagner, PhD of Evansville, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022 at Linda E. White Hospice House following a brief illness. She was born September 25, 1943 in Crawfordsville, IN to the late Henry and Dorothy (Glegor) Dezelan.
Jean grew up in Kokomo, Indiana and graduated with a Bachelors of Education from the University of Evansville. She then graduated with a Master's degree in English from Ball State University and later completed her PhD in psychology at Ball State, graduating Summa Cum Laude. She worked in private practice and taught psychology at U of E, then pursued an English professorship at USI. As a hobby she worked in interior design. Jean was very passionate about her family, her dogs and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs football fan.
She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Laura Wagner of Evansville and brother, Rich Dezelan of Palos Verdes, CA.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward Wagner in April of 1995 and brother, Hank Dezelan.
The family will have a Memorial service at a later date. Ziemer Funeral Home North Chapel will be handling the arrangements.
